Learn to sew with Instructor Jean Disrud

1. Understanding your machine

• The important parts: Tension, lifter, presser foot, needle
• Threading the machine

spoolholder to hooks to tension to slot down and up to lifter hook, hook thread and down to needle, thread needle

• Filling the bobbin and putting it in the machine....Use threaded needle to catch the bobbin thread

2. Sewing the seams GO SLOW

• Follow the lines
• Turning corners

• Curves

• Sew a straight 1/2 inch sean
• pins
• Press and sew a hem

3. Hand Sewing

• Sew in a button
• Fixing a hem
